A little about me

Editor, writer, wife to R, cheese-lover, inline skating queen, golfer with an impressive swing, but unimpressive handicap; social media nut and new(ish) mom. I’ve worked for the Times Union — a Hearst-owned newspaper in the capital of New York — for more than 16 years, writing about everything from potholes to potheads to pot racks.

When I went on maternity leave in late 2013 I didn’t want to stop writing, so this website was born. I post … occasionally. Previously, I wrote the Times Union’s On the Edge blog (second only to Capital Confidential, in terms of readership). I also have a weekly segment with Brian and Chrissy on the Fly Morning Rush where we argue talk about whatever is trending in the world of pop culture.

You can follow me on Twitter at @JustKristi. I’m on Facebook, too. I use both regularly (OK, obsessively). If you prefer a less public conversation, shoot me an email.
